The Guildhall School of Music and Drama moved into its new building at the Barbican center in 2013. The building was directly equipped with a very interesting indoor digital signage system. Due to its glass front all installations can also be seen from the outside. Next to the entrance and to the information counter a large video wall with 3x3 LCD displays (32”) has been placed. On the isles there are 3 to 4 evenly distributed single displays in landscape format. The loop is composed from content relating to the event calendar as well as to the different arraignment of the school (e.g. bands, theater groups etc.). It runs alternating between the different installations, so every display is showing a different part of the loop. The technical installation is good, only the single displays could have been directly integrated into the furnishing especially as the building was designed so recently. The content is very well made and fits the context.
