The Henry Doorly Zoo based in Omaha, Nebraska is the second-largest attraction in all of Nebraska. The "GATEWAY" to the zoo, a large steel entrance way, needed an enhancement. Saddle Ranch Digital installed a 40-foot screen, complete with sound that welcomes visitors to the park. This "GATEWAY" also serves to enhance events and overall customer experience.

The Zoo is in a residential area and there are certain restrictions on the signage being too close to the road.  Being a 40-foot state-of-the-art digital sign with high-power output, there were a number of factors to consider: walking traffic, distance of viewers, brightness, size, safety, etc. One other obstacle was to make sure the existing supports were structurally sound and could hold such a big sign. 

Saddle Ranch Digital was also challenged with finding a sign company that could manufacture a 40-foot custom sign and have it delivered in time. Additionally, installation of the sign, software, additional supports, as well as a massive sound system had to be completed in six weeks, when most manufacturers could not deliver a sign in fewer than six to eight weeks.

By hanging the signage on the "GATEWAY," it could be far enough off the road for permitting. Also, because the sign is digital, passersby can see it clearly from the road. Saddle Ranch Digital then found a manufacturer, in the U.S., that was willing and able to deliver the sign in fewer than six weeks, instead of the standard eight, affording the company the ability to have everything completed within the tight time line. 

The zoo is now using this "GATEWAY" screen for many things, including movie night at the zoo. The patrons love it and the sound that comes from it gets you right into the mood of attending the zoo!
