Sapporo Dome
The Sapporo Dome on the most northern of Japan's main islands Hokkaidō is used for sporting events such as football or baseball which is very popular in Japan.
Here, as the home games of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters take place.
At their games during the pacific league, 40.500 spectators can watch the game at the Sapporo Dome.
The games take place in the sheltered area of the stadium.
The roof can be removed when the weather is good.
At the straight-lined backside of the actual dome you can find an outdoor lawn.
During games the arena offers space for 41.484 fans.
It is home to the Japanese second division Consadole Sapporo.
Produced by Kawasaki Heavy Industries the soccer field in the stadium, which was built for the FIFA World Cup 2002, is moved out.
Within minutes the baseball field can be moved out and the football field can be moved in.
Now it is worked diligently. In January 2015, the installation of three mega-screens is about to go on stage.
After a trial period in February, the screens will be put into operation for the opening of the baseball season.
On the right and left side diamond vision screens sized 32m x 8,64m are going to be installed.
Taken together, is there a resolution of 4.32 million pixels available.
A third board in dimensions 13.12 m to 3.84 m delivers 787,200 pixels – in total the installation comes to 5,107,200 pixels.
In December 2014, provided for the outdoor screens steel structures were installed.
By modernizing the stadium now receives 2.9 times larger screens that offer a five times higher resolution than the previous screens.
They use screens that work with 8 mm pixel pitch and black-packaged LEDs by Mitsubishi - the first installation of this technology in a Japanese sports stadium.
With the new LED technology, the luminance is shut down for darker ambient light
Under bright light, the contrast for better visibility is increased.
The reorganization of Sapporo also includes a newly built control room, which is located underneath one of the two side screens.
