Dr. Martin Strohbach – NEC Europe, Network Division (DE)
strohbach smallDr. Martin Strohbach is a research scientist at NEC Laboratories Europe (NLE) in Heidelberg, Germany. Since 2008 he is leading a research project on Pervasive Display Networks that focuses on advancing existing Digital Signage solutions with context information and real-time audience measurement data. Martin received his Dipl.-Inf. (MSc in Computer Science) from University of Karlsruhe in 2001. After that, he worked as a research associate at Lancaster University, UK and contributed to research on the Internet of Things by developing  context-aware services offered by wireless sensor networks and smart, physical objects. He received his PhD from Lancaster University in November 2006. As part of his PhD he developed a framework for physical everyday objects that use P2P rule-based reasoning to detect situations in their environment. In July 2006, Martin joined NLE as a Research Scientist. more
