LG’s new Business Innovation Center in Dubai is just the most recent opening of a digital signage showroom. Various B2B products – mainly digital signage solutions – are presented in the showroom in Dubai’s Media City since June 2015.
LG Electronics innovation center is “Targeted at government and business partners, the showroom has allocated sections that correspond to LG’s key vertical markets including; hospitality, quick service restaurant (QSR), transportation, education, retail, security and corporate. The showroom design sets the scene for customers to enjoy an interactive hands-on experience and also assistance from LG business experts in each vertical in the showroom.”
We must mention, that invidis in general is not a big fan of showroom concepts. Usually they age faster than the supplier can replace the product line and wear off fast. We have visited dozens of digital signage showrooms across EMEA and unfortunately have not really seen a sustainable showroom concept.
Regardless of our past experience, we were surprised by LG’s newest Dubai showroom. The vertical showcases replicate the customer experience of each vertical market quite well and integrates displays as well as LED-lighting. Two digital platforms definately complementing each other It also seems that the concept as well as the size offer potential for a sustainable usage concept.
It remains to be seen if LG can pull it off to keep the showroom and presentations up to date. Other display manufacturer will most likely follow soon. The next chance to explore the newest digital signage product lines will be at this month’s Gitex/Infocomm MEA.
