Marks & Spencers Oxford Street

Marks & Spenser’s has no standardized digital signage concept, however in many stores different solutions are in place. A very nice installation can be viewed at the M&S Flagship Store on Oxford Street. The last shop window on the left edge of the iconic building is being used as a changing digital marketing platform for the brand. Always the whole shop window is designed following one central concept with the digital content as the main communication media. During the survey period two different setups could be recorded.
The first solution was an interactive touch enabled installation with 4 displays from 32” to 55” in size deployed irregularly over the full face of the shop window and framed by a passe-partout. The content was a special product shop with the possibility of browsing through the different products. The second solution was a simple video wall with 3x3 displays in landscape format. The whole installation was again framed by a passe-partout resembling the stone wall of the rest of the building. As content an image video was played out showing the current product range.
The technical installation as well as the concept and the content were in both cases of a very high quality, fitting very good into the whole surrounding and context.
