Konen

Konen gives away a lot of capability with the current digital signage installation. Although the traditional cloth shop invested in some digital signage hardware and high quality content but without a concept or relevance for the costumer. More than 20 screens where mounted inside the building. They tried to cover all important touch points with the screens. A Philips screen in the shop window – unfortunately not in a nice frame but in a really technically looking mount which doesn’t match with the image of Konen at all. Panasonic screens at the entrance as department signs and for product advertisement. They won’t get a design-award for this installation. In addition there are LG-, NEC- and Samsung screens put all over the shop and show a kind of “Konen ambiance” content. At this point Konen gives away the most conceptional capability. Just the vertically mounted Samsung screens which show an unusual 3-zone-content stand out. Though most of the costumers won’t know what to do with the ambiance fashion clips because they don’t show any product information. A better one are the Mac and Drykorn shop-in-shop installations. In this case the pictures at least apply to products. The technically base at Konen is alright. If they now adapt the content it will be a respectable digital signage system.
